Plymouth Sail and Power Show

A must-visit event this spring is the Plymouth Sail and Power Show, being staged for its 5th year at Queen Anneâs Battery marina, between Saturday 25th - Sunday 26th April. The weekend event is all set to showcase yet another fantastic collection of new and used boats as well as host numerous exciting on-water displays and demonstrations. What's more, the event is FREE entry to all visitors.

A highlight in the Plymouth spring boating calendar, the Plymouth Sail and Power Show offers a top weekend for boating and watersports enthusiasts and their families to enjoy. On-water entertainment at this yearâs Show includes a charity raft race, which is taking place on the Saturday (25th April). On-land there will be superb exhibits, competitions as well as other attractions for adults and children alike. Competitions at this yearâs event include the chance to win a day's sailing, courtesy of fractional boating specialist, SailTime.

On top of a great line-up of entertainment, a fantastic range of boats will be on display on land as well as in the marina itself. Once again, Ancasta International Boat Sales is exhibiting a range of sail and power boats at the Show. The company is bringing a selection of craft from several ranges including Bavaria Motor Boats, Sealine Motor Boats, Beneteau Yachts and Lagoon Catamarans.

NEW boats on display at the Show include the Morgan 260 sport cruiser, hand-built in the South West by Devon based Morgan Powerboats. Reaching speeds in excess of 40mph, the Morgan 260 is ideal for action'packed fun on the water.

The UK sales office for Australian long range cruising motor yacht manufacturer Maritimo is exhibiting for the first time. Maritimo UK is showcasing the Enclosed Flybridge Maritimo 48, which made her UK debut at the PSP Southampton Boat Show in September 2008. She carries up to 26 people and boasts an enclosed flybridge that is like having a second saloon on board and even has her own balcony. The Enclosed Flybridge Maritimo 48 is a sociable boat with a wide beam and a rear galley. She is also high on safety and seaworthiness, with features that include an internal staircase to the flybridge, sunken sidewalks and a very efficient hull.

South West importer of Jeanneau Yachts and Motorboats, WestWays is showcasing its popular Jeanneau range including two new Sun Odyssey models, the 44i and 32i and a new Sun Fast 3200. WestWays also has a variety of other models on display, ranging from 21ft - 54ft.

Visitors will also be offered the opportunity to step onboard and take a look around a Plymouth Lifeboat on display in the Show's marina.

If visitors fancy a quick bite to eat and drink, a range of food and refreshments will be available from Chandlers Bar and Restaurant and Sound Bites cafe, both located on site.

Queen Anne's Battery is situated in the centre of Plymouth with easy access to the A38 and railway networks enabling visitors to get to the venue with ease, with ample free car parking available to all Show visitors. For those visiting by foot, the marina is a short walk from the town centre. Alternatively, if visitors fancy attending by boat, there is visitor berthing at Queen Anne's Battery.
